As decades continue, I'm becoming less aware how children's minds work. How they think things through and relate to one another. I do remember when I was in elementary school, the girls would hand me practical advice... and keep an eye on me to see if I "got it." Starting then, I felt that girls had extra senses radiating through their thoughts and observations. A mystery that has stayed with me to this day. Thus.....

Every time I’ve seen this pastel of mine, I wonder what is on her

Every time I've looked at my pastel of this young girl, I see something different flowing from her secluded face. Today I see her carefully pondering and at the same time there's a feeling of hope. None of us will ever know, but that's one reason I'm continually fascinated with this art-piece.

I have pure elation when a treasured life is created in my art. I'm actually protective of that person appearing before me. There are such instances that have happened in my art career with those inspiring moments. Some quite remarkable.

We can now have a quiet visit with this dear girl. Harley
